The Naviik system adversely affects the factory nav system. If you watch their video you can see the route arrow off track. It fools the truck into thinking it is in park. Do the same thing happen with Navtv?
Watch this Naviks video - it shows how they select the camera mode and then LIVE video mode...
In this video you'll notice, to select camera / live mode - they require you to press/hold a button for 7, yes SEVEN, seconds then push another button FOUR times...because there isn't enough distractions on the road as it is!?!?!
7 seconds at 70 mph is 718 feet....almost 2.5 football fields!
I bet the COD-F5 from NavTV, like the Naviks NK-1306, the cameras will take over the infotainment display - so youll give up access to everything else on the display....climate control, radio features, navigation maps & cell phone....I believe this is a result of FORD not implementing camera views in a split screen manner (like you can do w/ the nav/maps).
To be fair, you hold the audio button for 8 seconds to activate the rear camera. If traffic is such that you can’t glance over for a half second to put your finger on the button, you shouldn’t be watching the camera, anyway.
The four-button-press only has to be done ONCE after you start the truck. You could do it before you ever shifted into drive...
That being said, while I enjoy the features, it’s a little glitchy. For example, once in awhile the rear view comes up in place of the "side view" when the turns signal is activated. $450 is quite a hit on the pocketbook...

From the Naviks manual....
Naviks Camera Activation procedure
Ill try to post the video, but he just posted one of him driving down the road with the infotainment screen normal and he hits the blinker and that side of the truck's camera activates. After the blinker shuts off, the screen goes back to normal. He then hits the camera button while rolling to select the view he wants.
LIKE the Navik's it appears that NavTV capitalizes the infotainment system such that you can not use Radio or Climate etc while the cameras ARE IN "LIVE" MODE.
I have the Naviks harness. It's true that your sync screen does get used as the camera display so you can't see the radio display... but it's not like your radio shuts off or mutes...it continues to play as normal. As far as climate control goes...again your display is in use however if you have ***** and buttons those continue to work as normal. This is my original thread on it. It was $360

perhaps you missed the part where I said the Naviks solution CAPITALIZES the infotainment screen.....perhaps I should have said the system KIDNAPS or HOLDS HOSTAGE the infotainment display.
I prefer a system that used SPLIT screen (I dont use the navmap),
I find holding a button for 7 seconds ridiculous and a non-starter.
It makes better sense to use the OEM camera button to enable the system and REDUCE the time to enable.
Does this system use a more acceptable sequence to enable than the naviks (like a double tap of the camera button or something that doesn’t take 7 seconds)?

Can't tell you exactly how it works as I just ordered, from what a read only need to top the camera button to access the rear cameras and double top
for the front, side cameras with blinker or you can disable that option
Edit:
Here you go
Camera button now shows rear camera (default after ignition) with a single press
(press and release once again to clear)
• Camera button now shows front camera with a double press (press and release
once again to clear)
• Last used camera image (whether front, rear, cargo or surround view) is
retained when switching back and fourth from radio screen to camera screen via
camera button (instead of default surround view only with each press)
• Turn signals switch to corresponding side view (left or right, panned 100%) *

The NavTV system used the OEM camera selection button (above the infotainment display).
you can add a option 12v trigger/switch if you - but it isn't necessary.
