I found this on eBay from China. It comes with a blank key and an 80 bit chip. I also bought the old 3 button key fob for the door locks. Once all assembled and key cut, programming the key chip to the truck was easy as was the door lock fob programming. Love it. A little bulky but nothing to bad. Since I have long distance remote start, I have a separate remote start fob.
There are fobs on eBay similar to the one above. I bought some but could never get the door lock part to work That is why I went with a known method of using the old style Ford 3 button door lock fob. The third button is the panic button.
Exactly the blanks are cheap. It's the $45 to cut them I oppose
Who charges you $45 to cut them? The Local Ford parts dept didn't change me anything to cut mine nor did a local hardware store. I bet you can go to a locksmith and pay them less than $10 to cut two or three keys. The local locksmith I used to cut a side milled key for a 2016 Ford Fusion only changed $25 each key.
I'm just the opposite.
I want a fixed key with no FOB. Just the key itself, with the PASS key head and no buttons.
Any suggestions for this, keeping in mind the new cut design (side cut versus old edge cut)?

Not the HighSecurity Blanks. They require a special machine to cut and I've not found any lock smith who will make me a deal. They all seem to want to recoup their investment in the new expensive cutters.
I bought a refurb'd FOB off ebay and got it programed to my truck, So I had a 3rd Fob. Put it in a Fairaday bag and hide it in the truck, So if I every lost a key, I could hopefully use the door Keyless to gain access and dig out my buried FOB to start the truck.
I bought 3 key blanks off EBay to replace the cut key on that FOB, But finding a locksmith to cut it with paying $45 or more has been impossible.
