I found a thread on the F-150 board that talks about some different PATS key blanks that work with them, but I can't find Excursion specific answers and was hoping some of you might have some insight..
The H72-PT is our stock factory provided Key...pic below
Then there is the All-in-One "Fusion" key, pic below
And lastly the new Blade Flip Key, Pic below
Does anyone know if they are all on the same frequency? If so, shouldn't any PATS key work for our trucks? Any info is appreciated!! Thanks
The first Walmart replacement code is programmed to mimic the the key that is given. If you are looking for a replacement other keys will have to programmed from Ford from the VIN as a direct replacment and the transponder will have to programmed manually turning the key on and off severals then pressing the lock button on the transponder. The fusion all in one key works for the transponder for me but I have bypass the PATS system so I can run just a plain metal key. I know on 1998 and newer Fords to make a new master it has to go to the dealer because it is stored in the GEM on the vehicle.
I do think that if you have two good programmed factory keys then you can add on any key. I went the other way like I said a disabled it with a bypass which you will have for a remote start.

This is what I want to know, if I have (2) keys that are programmed from Ford, could I then take a Fusion or Flip key and program them by cycling the ignition and program additional keys that way? I know how to program additional regular keys, but curious if the Fusion and Flip keys work on the same frequency so I might be able to program them. THanks
there was a recent thread in the 6.0L section about this that can probably be found easily. they found a way to make the "euro" style flip keys work.
unless im mistaken, i know the excursion has pats from 2000 and the superduties only got it after 2005 so it may have been on someones truck without the pats but im pretty sure that it wasnt.
good luck

Will those euro-flip style keys even fully seat into the ignition tumbler?
The Excursions are molded with the blade of the key going in the same direction as the 'body' of the PATS section...the opening is much more narrow than the blade style body:
...would a blade key fully seat since the tumbler on our Expys sticks out that extra 1/4" or so?
The thread joe referenced had to trim
a notch out of the ignition shround using
a dremel if i recall correctly. Otherwise it
worked ok, but not sure of it had pats or not either.
I am on mobile and can't search right now.
