I was wondering if anyone else has found a key only replacement with transponder for the flip type key. The reason I ask is I like to keep my vehicle running sometimes when I have to run in a convenience store for a second and I don't want to have to carry around 2 flip key fobs. Plus I would like to hide a key on my truck and not a whole flip fob.

No such animal exist.
The amount of time it takes you to run into a convenience store is more than the amount of time it`ll take someone to get in your car and drive away.
Come to think of it, I saw an automated key making machine the other day, and the display screen claimed that it could replicate keys that have the chip.

You got me REALLY interested here... Where was it? I really want to do it too.

We were checking out at a Safeway in San Carlos near the corner of Ralston and El Camino. A couple of people in front of us, and I noticed this automated key-making kiosk across from us. It was going through all its "features'; one of which was replicating chip-enabled car keys. I don't remember the brand or anything, just poked it into my memory bank.

Don't know where you are located but in this part of the world if you leave your car running and someone jumps in and steals it, insurance won't pay and you WILL be fined as well. As others have said, why not just use the keypad or get out, lock it and remote start it if you want to leave it running. No keys left behind.

My truck has no keypad or remote start. I don't think the doors look while it running using the swiitch on the door, you have to have a fob. Anyway forget about leaving the truck running, I would just like to hide a key for emergencies.
I got one on eBay and had it cut a the ford dealer . programd it with my existing 2 keys it works great
I saw this on eBay before I posted this thread. They didn't list 2018 in the model years that the key worked with. Does anyone know if the 2017 have the same key design as the 2018?

I hope Fry's has it. I'm in Orange County, I have two fobs and it is a real pain trying to set up the third key because of the chip. I would be surprised if the key-making machine kiosk did not require the other two keys to activate the third one, I'm almost sure you need it otherwise it's a lot more expensive.
A lot of times when I'm leaving it for a week or so, I hide my key somewhere in the car and then use the keypad to unlock it. That was the reason why I didn't want keyless, I'd have to carry it with me all the time instead.
