You do not need the extra fobs. You press lock unlock lock to activate the remote start. I’ve installed it on two trucks and activated with forscan. Read the thread adding remote start to an XL as stated above

Yeah it'll actually work with the original fobs that just have lock/unlock/panic. For example, all the trucks I've done and programmed with FORScan, I just hit lock-unlock-lock on the original key fob and it fires right up. It's great! No additional fobs! Limitations are range of OEM fob but that's fine. It's all detailed in the remote start in 2018 XL thread.

Had dealer install factory remote start when I bought my 19. They programmed original key fobs to start. Lock-unlock-lock to start. Works well.

The Factory Remote Start is included in an Alarm package. Like posted above it works GREAT! Mine has been installed for a couple of months now and I have no complaints.

Remote start

Had the remote oem installed on my 2018 XLT along with garage door opener and love the new options. The remote start works great along with the garage door opener. Another nice thing is that they both now fall under the extended service plan. I op-ed for the 6 yr 1000,000 plan. Money well spent. But just wanted to give update on the new install. Oh one other thing also got the fitted heavy duty floor mats and the low profile bug shield as well accessories coming along nicely.

I'm planning to add the remote start to my truck as well.
you caught my interest with the garage door opener added later. Can you elaborate on the garage door opener?

Yep went to dealer and asked if garage door opener is an option and was. Everything thing so far I have done has been done by dealer. Also having bull bar, mud flaps, and fitted seat covers installed. But can tell u remote start is awesome due to cold weather setting in
