At the bottom of my windshield I have this piece of weatherstripping that is twisted in the middle and it is at least 3" short on the pass. side. Wondering if anyone has messed with this before trying to peel it out and fix myself. Thx.
So far, same here. I tried ignoring it, but once I got the truck all detailed and the exhaust work done, I am now fixated on it again. Does it serve a purpose other than appearance and maybe keeping bugs from collecting behind the dash? Think I'll call and price out a new piece.
Nope, dealership doesn't show anything like it on schematic, said could be part of the windshield though I'd be surprised. Probably just as well to use similar size and density from bulk, but I'd be a little worried about getting it stuffed back in there and also UV resistance of the aftermarket stuff.
Been a problem for a long time. I pull the ends tight once in awhile and stuff it back in. Don't know how long the glue will last but it works for a bit.
I just pulled it all the way out and stuffed it back in with adhesive down vs. against glass, it seems to be in there snugly and now evenly spaced with about 1.5" on either side, no drama. Hoping that's the last of it. If not, it doesn't look like it does much and if so could replace with any quality weatherstripping.

I see you are also a proud member of the warped dashboard club. I have both the twisted weatherstrip and warped dash so I can claim both clubs lol.
I’m also a charter member of those clubs. My weatherstripping is as crooked as Dick’s hatband and it really tests my OCD. I’m just waiting for one good rock chip so I can get a professional shop to install it correctly. From what I’ve read, it’s only purpose is to keep papers, pens, pencils and M&M’s from rolling into the dash...those rattles or melted candies really up the resale value!
Nice, since it is symmetrical I hadn't noticed. Something that gets worse that I should warranty or factory feature?
Good luck, guys have been trying to get it corrected under warranty since 2015 there isn't a fix and being cosmetic there is nothing to force a repair.
