2017 F-350 6.7 Lariat
I'm trying to decide the appropriate level (PowertrainCARE, BaseCARE, ExtraCARE, PremiumCARE) for my truck. I intend to keep it a while, at least 150k miles and 7 years, so I will choose the term appropriately. I also do a lot of maintenance myself, all that I can anyway. So brake pads, fluid and filter changes, etc. will all be handled myself. I also am not going to get my feelings hurt over a few hundred dollars here and there--I plan to go with the $200 deductible. The main thing I worry about are the bigger issues like internal transmission repairs and anything that requires cab removal. I'm leaning toward ExtraCARE because it seems to cover most of the issues I am concerned about but still costs much less than PremiumCARE. I plan to do minor modifications to the truck, like stereo modifications, bumper replacement. Am I crazy to go with ExtraCARE instead of PremiumCARE? I probably won't drop down to Base or Powertrain because the coverage of fuel system components is not as comprehensive. Thoughts?
I had the same questions. Have a diesel, figured I'd own it for eight years and I'd put about 15k miles a year on it. More worried about the big dog expenses and some importance electronics. I went with the EXTRA Care with the $200 deductible and the first day and enhanced rental. It covers a lot of crap and It was $2k. PremiumCare was about $1000 more. The PremiumCare on a 150k miles is crazy money. Not sure you'll get the monies worth over Extracare.

It's insurance.
This is my line of thinking also. Interested in other opinions, though.
I bought the Extra Care, I think 150K miles, 8 years. My truck is an XL with the STX package, so I don't have a lot of the "bells and whistles" to break to justify the cost difference for the premium care.
I purchased premiumCare at the dealer I bought the truck from, but I went armed with a printed quote from Flood Ford. My dealer matched it, $2,100 for 8 years 100,000 miles.
