Dielectric grease is not used to "make a good connection", it's an insulator. It's used to protect a connection and prevent leakage. As in at the spark plug boot/porcelain connection but not at the electrical connection.

Good thing the OP posted a picture of the trans code located on the pillar almost a year ago.
Ford used varying transmissions depending on models and customers that special ordered trucks.
The C6 was used until '96, but without knowing that, most folks would assume it would be an E4OD.
