C103 connector pin-outs

C103 location

C103 pin-outs

Notice there is another connector, C110, in the diagram above. I focused only on C103 since your issue and trouble code indicate a problem with the converter clutch solenoid only.

There is always 12 VDC applied to the solenoids whenever the key is in the Start or Run position. The solenoids are "grounded" by the computer to activate them.

Your best bet is to check for resistance of the solenoids either at the PCM (computer) connector or the other connectors I mentioned before.

So I checked the resistance for my tcc solenoid and I’m getting resistance like a .5 on the lowest setting, so does that mean my pcm is bad?

Torque Converter Clutch solenoid should 20-30 ohms resistance. Where were you measuring? Red lead where? Black lead where?

Then your .5 ohm resistance measurement indicates the wiring from point A to Point B is good. Now I would test the TCC solenoid resistance at the solenoid pack connector to see if it measures 20 -30 ohms.If that is good then you could have a bad computer.

I used rock auto, the pcm code that yours uses should be on top of the plugin for it

Did you also have the 628-excessive TC slippage detected? I'm getting that code, but almost no symptoms except it occasionally dies in D at idle and the 2-3 shift hangs, then shifts hard. Only happens when the truck is warmish, but not yet completely warmed up.

Also, the speedo doesn't jump, but reads high and the gap increases as speed increases.

91 4.9 with the E40D. Cruise control.

Haven't done any diagnosis yet. Just read the codes and when I opened the forum, this post was on top. lol

E4OD Nitemare

Just thought i would give a little update on my E4OD issue. Torque convertor has been disconnected for many miles. Transmission still shifts like new. No problems. No codes, no flashing lights, no overheating. Issue has not been found. I have replaced EVERY THING. I use the word every thing lightly. RESTOMAN92

Maybe Code 629 is directed to an E4OD, I'm not sure.
What is the trans code on the door pillar?
94 is mated to e4od. 4r100 replaced this in 98.
