I am looking at a used 2017 F350, it’s got most everything I would want, but I’d prefer the other OEM 20” wheels. I had a sales guy say, and I also think I read here somewhere that not all the wheels are compatible.
Is there a difference between F350 and 250 wheels?
will I sacrifice towing/payload by swapping wheels?
the truck has an electric locking axle, I think from what I have read that effects the caps, but not the wheel itself?
I searched the forum and couldn’t find anything definitive.
I had a similar question a while back. What I got for an answer was that the hub on the F-350 axle was larger than on the F-250 (gas only). I'm still looking for a set of take-off 18" wheels so I'm confining my search to wheels that came off of a 2017+ F-350.
It just depends on what rear axle you get. If you get the sterling 10.5" you can use the F250's, if you get the newer Dana you cannot as the hub is larger/longer. One caveat is that some F250's can have the newer Dana....so you can't really just say its an F250 it will work. You need to know the axle used to know if it will work or not.
I purchased Platinum wheels for my F250 6.2 off an F350 6.7 and they fit fine. Both 2017’s. There was a thread addressing this same issue a while back but I can’t seem to locate it.

the F350 axle hub is larger - f250 (w/out heavy tow package?) hub is smaller - so f250s that have the smaller axle hub use a different wheel.
the 20" Platinum wheels for both look VERY similar....if you dont know what to look for they look the same
F250 20" plat wheels have a CAST center hub and use a small logo to fill the hole
F350 20" plat wheels use a HUB CAP to cover the axle
I have a set of BOTH wheel (im trying to sell the F250 20" wheels)....
