Well discovered that the factory trac bar won’t work as low as we have this truck sitting so I ordered some heim joints to build a custom one also ordered a downpipe. Build is definitely moving along set cab on next to get it swapped to auto setup it was originally a manual setup.
Well we set the cab on it mainly to see height wise of the truck and to get the manual stuff swapped out which I wasn’t thinking it doesn’t have any of wiring being a 94.5. Oh well just gonna throw the 97 dash We have in it.
I’m not going crazy on prep but I am running over it with a da with 220 sand paper then hard to get to areas using a digrinder on it. Paint and primer is simply oil based rust primer and gloss black that u can get at your local hardware store. It has worked very well for me for a lot of projects I brush it on and it almost looks like it was sprayed on for most part. I’d like to get a lot more detailed on this project it’s just not gonna happen this time around. But hopefully I can document hole build on here as it slowly gets built.
The issue with shocks is that I’m actually using 2wd diesel coils on a 4wd setup and when you go to pick truck up on rack the frontend hangs down. Till the shocks fully extended and the coils fall out of buckets. Doesn’t hurt anything but makes it pain to set back down by myself. To line coils up and lower truck I couldn’t find anything shorter last night I may just put suspension limiting straps on it and call it done. Plan for today is to get part of frame that’s primered painted and tank dropped and cleaned. And dash and pedals back in.

220 paper seems pretty fine but must be working well for you. Up here I would probably need to be at 40 grit anyways for our rust. or an air chisel.
Yeah it’s actually in pretty good shape but either way not really trying to build show truck just wanting to make it last a bit longer and be a reliable dd for time being.
Honestly probably more but I have no clue some stuff is just test fitting think we decided tonight that where gonna use the other front clip to save time this one is salvaged very easily but where trying to save time. Also looking at parallel 4linking rear and running coil spring rear what do you guys think. Obviously some of this is one step at time but we half to address rear suspension anyway due to the narrow rear f150 leafs. Also that where gonna half to get custom ubolts but this may not happen for now where focusing on the front half of truck.
