7k mile update on centramatic balancer's
Well if I were not a believer before . I am now.
I installed centramatic's about 7000 miles ago.
At the time I didn't remove the old stick on tire balancing weights .
It was time for my 5k oil change this weekend.
And I rotate tires every 5k
Before the guy at tire shop jacked up my truck I ask him to remove the tire weights and not to replace them.
You can imagine he looked kind of lost at this point.
He ask if I was sure that's what I wanted.
He's been rotating my tires for last 100k miles or so.
He owns the shop and is a good honest guy.
only ever charge's me $25 .
And after 5 back surgery's it a well spent $25 for 35x12.50 tires I don't want to handle.
He'd never seen centramatic balancer's.
There was 4 rows of stick on weights about 8" long in two spots on each tire.
Looks like a lot of balance weights to me.
His shop didn't mount tires.
Before centramatic my tires were getting a bad hop .
After it was all but gone.
After removing weights . And running only centramatic the hop, bounce is completely corrected .
I'm certainly not selling these things but I'm a believer in them now.
Just turned 280k miles and hope this is my last truck I own. So I've got to take care of this one.
IvI' got about 20 more years to drive to work. There's a lot of tires and rotation's between now and then.
Hopefully the centramatic balancer's will help saving me some cash on worn tires.

And i thought i drove alot! You got some serious seat time the last 1.5mon.
I went to their site, had them in the "cart", hit the Buy Now and it directed me to PayPal. Ofcourse, damn buyer remorse kicks in and i abondoned ship. Thinking now, ill be doing some driving for the next 2mon, even though the truck being used has 350.00otd tires mounted, i THINK the balancers do more than just balance the wheels. Im thinking of the wear thats NOT being presented now to the rest of the rotating environment...axles, inner bearings and seals, the harmonics thru the pumpkin..etc. Or, am i just on "a good one" at 5:30am..lol..
Yo Sousigan, no dice mang...

More driving than I like.
its an hour one way to work.
but I do love living in middle of nowhere.
Most of the guys at work don't understand why I would drive so far .
But I lived in Beaumont tx for a few years in my early 20s and hated it.
So I don't mind the drive. IvI' gotten use to it.
And got lucky enough to take the boys to Houston to watch a few Astros games in the last few weeks. That's a pretty good trip from my place. And I hate going to Houston.
But I still remember my dad taking me and my brother to see the astros in the old astrodome .

Tig, thanks for the update. I've only put a couple hundred miles on mine but am pleased with the smooth ride. I did notice that a lower speeds if I hit a good bump or pothole there will be a noticeable bounce or hop till the disrupted shot gets spread out again. First time it happened had that momentary "what is that" panic till it smoothed out.

I never removed any weights when running centramatics. I figured if it started off balanced, then that left more room for adjustment if I picked up a rocks or mud, or whatever else in a tire. I never got anything rebalanced, but might as well start off with a brand new tire that's balanced and then not have to worry about it again.

I've been running them for about 4-5 years and never had any issues. I switch wheels and tires for the winter (studded tires on stock rims)and as smooth as ever no matter what is mounted on the truck. Like Tig, I do not plan on replacing this truck so anything like this is a great investment in longevity.
