Morimoto SB LED Headlights

I did read that section carefully. Even OEM lights are not legal if they are aimed improperly so I don’t see what’s so tricky about that statement.
It always kills me on this forum when other folks are excited about getting a new accessory for their SD and others chim in about how stupid it is to spend money on that item. I figure everyone will spend their money how they see fit. My business is paying for these so after tax savings they’re really only going to net out at around $1000 for me. I happen to be excited about these lights and they will be aimed properly to meet any regulations because I care about what oncoming traffic is seeing.
To those of you who say the OEM lights are only a $!080 upgrade, well, I have an XLT value package so I saved a ton of money over the higher trim packages BUT the one thing I wanted was the LED lights for my failing eye sight and I couldn’t piece meal these like some other options. Others have added the OEM lights for around $2000 after their truck purchase and with much labor and trouble along the way. I am excited to spend the money I am spending on something that actually throws a better light pattern than OEM. They have a 5 year warrantee which is comparable to factory as well.

I just emailed them a couple days ago and got this response
Thanks for the email! We're thankfully still expecting them before the end of this year. Being a pre-order it's possible they could come in sooner/later than expected but we always do our best projecting ETA's on them.
Once in hand we'll fill all the pre-orders and email you tracking so you have a better ETA to your door.
Have a great week and thanks again,
Charlie

I have downloaded and read the installation directions. They are plug and play. One wire has to be run to the fuse box for DRL but I think I will do something a little cleaner. I had actually purchased the OEM LEDs and was going to rewire them (as I did on my 2016 F-150) when I owned it. The Morimotos look pretty cool and a different look. Im 53 but that still doesn't mean I have to grow up. LOL

so you order way in advance....they give you a date range on when to expect them, then they push that date out by double but ask you to pay more to get them a month or so sooner which is later then their original estimated ship date? that right there is a big turn off in dealing with them as a company based off of ethics/principles. Has anyone received a set and if yes, can we see photos? thanks

I received the notice as well. First off, I knew there was no way we would be getting these in December as promised. Fullfilment dates are rarely reached for most new products. Second, there's no way I'm giving an extra $150. I'll just wait for them.
On another note....has anyone ever removed the factory light assemblies yet? How far forward do they have to be pulled forward for them to release? I have an aftermarket bumper and winch and I only have about 3/4 of an inch clearance at the bottom of the headlight assembly to the pre runner bar of my bumper. I sure hope I won't have to remove that bumper to get these new lights installed.. With the winch I'm sure it's about 450 lbs.

I just replaced the stock fog light bulbs with LEDs in my 2019 SD and they are about as bright as the low beams now but with a wider spread. Based on that I've ordered the LED bulbs to replace the low beams. The owner of the shop has had a set in his SuperDuty for three years with no issues. For only $300 compared to $2K, they're worth a try as far as I'm concerned.
