2011 with p1247 and p0471 codes

looking at 2011 with 180,000 on it. Checking the mechanics over I scanned it and got 4 codes. Two are DEF heater relayed and the third and fourth are the two above. Looks like they are both turbo related. I’m guessing most likely from some research the turbos on its way out. Any one able to give any input on this? Any direction would be appreciated, if I were to still proceed I’d like to negotiate the price down accordingly or find a different truck to purchase. Thanks in advance.

No one has any feedback? Also sometimes when accelerating you hear a roaring noise kinda reminds me of when you would hear the fan kick on while towing with my 6.0’s.

While you could drive during warm weather with the def heater assy being bad, I would want those items fixed before purchase.

You can do the job yourself by buying the parts, dropping the tank and replacing though.

Turbo codes, I have no idea, but the same applies. If this is a dealership I would want it fixed before purchase. If you are mechanically inclined there are threads where others have replaced their turbo with the model year 15 and up. It can be done in your driveway/shop.

Them fixing it is not an option unless I want to pay to have the repairs done. I'm not at all worried about he DEF codes. I'll either put a new heater in it after checking the wiring or delete the truck. The turbo codes is what I'm really concerned about. They've discounted it $5000 already from where we started due to the repairs. It's a Chevy dealer A friend buys a lot of wholesale units from so the used car manger is working with me in a as is unit so to speak. Is there aftermarket units out there that are a good option for the turbo? I know they made improvements to turbo in 2013, is that a direct bolt on unlike the 2015 turbo?

Could the CAC tube issues these trucks are common for cause these codes? For instance if the tube was just cracked and not broken yet. Still drives fine and builds good boost. Per the crappy factory gauge anyway.

mine will sound the same on start up, then it will quite down after a few minutes.

On a hard pull it will engage on high and sound just like a 6.0 would....an airplane under the hood.

Ok maybe I'm overreacting to it then. The 2013 I drove for a week I never heard it come on once, even pulling my bobcat and dump trailer in 80-90 degree ambient temperatures. But that's what it reminded me of. The other odd thing it did was yesterday morning when accelerating it sounded like a fan would kick on behind me in the rear seat area. thought it was a little wierd. You'd hit the gas and it would run and let off it would go away.
