I’m replacing the oil pan on my truck (and a bunch of other things while it’s out) and noticed some thing showing signs of having leaked on the front of the torque converter. Any thoughts on this? I haven’t looked into it too deeply just yet but figured I’d ask.
while of the subject of TQ would it be a good idea to replace OEM with triple disk billet type? everyone says this TQ is a weak link. I have a 2003 model. Have heard the 5r110 trans TQ will work and is a better choice as well.
I do tow a 8K airstream, but for now east coast mainly with not a bunch of hills for the most part. I use the torque app and when pulling I don't see much in teh way of slip vs non towing slip numbers from the TQ, so guess that mean it doing good for now.
did a fluid drop and fill several times last year with DEXRON III/MERCON and planning to do another drain flush and fill with Mercon V and put in 6.0 cooler I have on shelve this fall or next spring. the trans shift smooth and clean, replace valve body with John Woods to help firm up shifts and when towing in hills/mountains area keep eye on trans fluid temps.
