I have asked one time the hood is driving me crazy. Now I tryed to buy new hood hinges My problem is as I show in the picture it will not fall down in the rear end.
Will it help me if I buying the hinges from Eddie motor sport or will I still have the problem And they are very expensive. Do you guys have any experience
Try loosening the hood latch assembly so it's loose and can move..... then shut the hood.....that helped me........I have had a couple of trucks...I can say only one was totally perfect.........
You know 1953-55 are the same the 1956 is different hood hinge --- my opinion these repo springs are TERRIBLE--I finally found a old clean original set hinges complete put them on what a perfect fit ---try to fit it up with no hood dowel installed--
Also on mine I bring hood down and hold pull safety lever open away from hood, then I close it hands both side of emblem and shuts so nice and tight-- Good Luck
Are You sure, You have the right hinges for your truck? As F100supercrew wrote, there are differences between the '53-'55 and the '56. Somehow it looks way to high on that picture. Did You change something on the holes in the firewall? As Jafo56 wrote, You'll need to loosen the hood latch to give it lateral movement. Then try to close the hood again. Maybe You'll need to change the inclination of the hinges. It's not only the level at which the hinges sit but also the angle is very important! Maybe you can post a picture of the hinges with the hood open. I fumbled for hours with the hinges and the alignment of the hood, but finally I mad it fit nicely. You'll need a lot of patience an even more bottles of beer
It works a lot better now after I have loosen the hood bolts closed the hood and then tighten the bolts. But I still have to push the last inch in bouth side with the hand.
I have posted a pictures. What can I adjust whit the to cross rods or is it only to stability for the front
