Question need hood adjustment help!

we are trying to get the hood on my 54 adjusted.we have adjusted the hood hinges and fenders but still need to get 1/4 inch on front of hood.hood needs to go to the left as you sit in the truck.will adjusting the hood rods make any difference pulling the front right or left?or do they just adjust the rear of the hood? also am I right that to much pressure on the hood latch will bring the back of the hood up?

With the hood closed, does it seem to fit the cab across the cowl? If so then the front fenders will need to be shifted to the right.

Yes threading the hood stud in will cause the rear of the hood to rise.

Try adjusting the rods to see if it makes a diff. One thing I know for sure. It is nearly impossible to get a perfect hood fit on the 53-56's. I had to elongate the hinge mounting holes to get a decent fit on my 55.

Have not tried this but... I was approcahed by a ol'timer one day who wanted to look at my old truck, He said he worked at a Ford dealership in his day. He told me the proper way to align the hood on my 55 was to innitially have it off the truck lying on the ground painted side up just as if it were mounted on the truck. He said then adjust the rods so that all 4 corners touch the ground. then and only then can you get it adjusted properly on the truck. Seemed logical to me.
