What are your plans for the oil supply and return lines?

Used 1/2 in plate for pedistal and drilled and tapped it where the original oil supply is used 6an fittings. For the drain I knocked the freeze plug out in valley where obs have fuel pump and used a 06 dodge Cummins turbo drain worked perfectly. He’s been running it for several thousand miles with no issues so far.

Very cool, I commend you on your ability and skill in getting this kit done. I am an aspiring fabricator, but usually just end up drilling holes in metal to make something work.

Keep the pictures coming please.

Well guys was flipping threw Craigslist Friday and found a reasonable deal on a 2000 7.3 speed truck that a tree fell on but it still runs and drives so we went to look at it this morning ended up bringing it home. Truck has dp tuner on it and stage 2s according to guy we bought it from he was second owner. So he was going off what po told him but he bought it like it was with tree still on it. And is supposed to have some sort of upgraded clutch. Truck really runs good very little smoke. But here’s my question can I possibly see what injectors are buy sending in tuner to dp tuner. Figure it’s a long shop but I definitely feel like there more than stage ones because it has lot more power than mine or my brothers trucks with stage1s

Pull a valve cover and read the numbers on the solenoid, that should tell you something.

ok ok let’s see, as for swapping cams and the like I don’t think it will help, what you want is two things, to move air and fuel to make fire, these engines like to breathe, what you really need to wake a truck up (aside from the tooner) is a way to move wit in and a way to move air out, simplest mods to do (if not done already to your roll back) is to get the AIS and a good 4” turbo back exhaust, any thing bigger will not yield much more in terms of power gain, it has been proven many times over that the stock (rectangular box) sucks (pun intended) in more ways then one including dirt, the ais is a good stock set up that will flow more then enough air and still pass emissions testing if your area has that.

if you need more air (say your dropping in stage 2s and bigger turbo and the like the 6637 is the way to go (again more threads then needed on the subject.

now how do we get all that new found air out of the 1k lb pump called the 7.3L? Simple an exhaust, 4” seems to be the sweet spot as far as the T444E goes, put your turbo on and size the exhaust and you should be good, just remember your 2002 engine will most likely have PMR rods, so if your going to make lots of HP (500 or more) you will want to get the forged rods.

Regarding the installed injectors, unless the rebuilder marked them (likely on the solenoids) I don't see anyway of determining what they are. The DP tunes might reveal something if DP Tuner kept records of the tunes provided to the PO, and that assumes the PO accurately provided DP with info about the sticks. If they were tuned only by Stage X, then I don't know what that could mean.

Where definitely planning on a exhaust and we’ve already got a 6637. Probably not going to run the stage 2s in the wrecker. Probably just gonna stick with stage 1s just need a reliable tow truck not a speed demon . Really pretty much have decided against the cam because truck does have 4:88 gears.

Another thing that I suggest checking out is the Torque pro FAQ and reading it over, and then investing in the OBDLink MX and the Torque Pro app, good for troubleshooting the issues you will encounter, also get bellowed uppies, brand is your pick, it’s not a matter of if but when your existing seals fail on the uppies

Sorry haven’t posted much guys been busy working but we decided we are gonna put engine out of truck we just bought in it I definitely believe it has injectors in it just not single shots. When you pull chip it doesn’t lope I’m thinking it has the stage 2 splits that I believe swamps does or did offer. But either way it’s gonna get a new oil pan and most likely cleaned up and anything else that looks bad replaced. Probably not gonna be able to do a t4 setup this go round but I can still build another mount on my parts engine. When money allows for that. May go ahead and throw bearings in the engine while the pan is off just depends.

I think we are going to go ahead and get a turbo rebuild kit and do valve springs and a melling lpop to just waiting a little bit to recoup some money. And possibly the bellowed up pipes just depends.

Sorry guys about being scarse past little bit but been busy at work with other jobs and truck has been slightly put on back burner. I have been working on some sandblasting and rust primering and painting on the taillight housings and control boxes on it in my spare time. Also the plan is to swap motors after a compression test.
