Well first thing I do is start disconnecting everything connected to engine or body and chassis. I like to pull radiator just for safe measures. Which I’m draining right now I also just undo ac compressor and move it to the side.

Okay guys sorry didn’t do much over weekend but got it running today. Definitely nice to here it running smoothly again but my question is is it okay to run the red fleet guard in this engine it’s out of a 2000 truck it has forged rods but has 3in plenums and later model turbo let me know what you guys think.

If a 2000 motor, your good with red elc...so, the motor you recently installed had blowby? So your dropping another motor in?

No this is first motor I myself installed in this truck I got it in deal on purchasing business from family member but they had put that engine in it it had horrible blow by and constantly smoked and no power at all hardly. Oil cap wouldn’t begin to stay on at idle it would blow it off and hit hood . This motor was in a parts truck I bought for reasonable the truck showed 270,000 something but had clean oil and little to no blow by. And it runs like a top.

Need to do some engine bay cleaning now. Also question on the air intake that I put on it came with the parts truck I bought. It appears to be a k&n dry type filter is that okay or do I need to look for better filter I’ve read mixed reviews on this.

Also noticed that the check engine light wouldn’t go off my laptop was at home so just used old super chip that I use to read codes. Had the ebpv sensor and map sensor checked plug all seemed well there. So I figured I’d swap it later I swapped in the 2000 ecm and install the dp tuner chip and fired truck up the check engine light is off now. I did use the 2000 map sensor and engine harness on the e99 truck. Anyway I’ll keep you guys posted have taillights and a brand new shifter boot ordered for it and I’ve still got to install the new windshield. I’m using a harbor freight windshield wire knife. Maybe I’ll do a how to diy windshield install for you guys.
