Quick towing trans temp question

I just came down a long very steep grade with our travel trailer in second gear holding approximately 35 mph. By the time we got to the bottom, the trans temp had risen to 220 degrees. It hovered all day long 197-205 pulling a 5500# travel trailer and only spiked coming down that hill.

Is this normal behavior? If so, ill just ignore it if it happens again. Truck is a 2018 3.5L 10-speed SuperCrew Max Tow 4x4.

I'd say it's normal for it to rise when doing this - not saying it's good though. I think I would use my brakes a little more to keep the temps down.

It's normal. 220F is not anything to worry about.
