Normal trans temp?

I recently bought a 2013 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4.When I switch to the gauge readout the trans temp is about 195 degrees at highway speeds warmed up.I am going to tow a 6k lb trailer tommorow about 400 mile. The air temp should be about 60 degrees. What is the highest trans temp I should see?Is there a warning if the temp gets too high?

My transmission normally runs in the 195 range, I recently towed a 16' Box trailer (trailer and cargo about 6,000#) The most I saw was 197. Which it will get that hot in stop and go traffic. I asked the same thing when I got on FTE, but others have also indicated theirs run in the 190's. You shouldn't have any issues.

196* is the norm for the most part.
IIRC Tom hit the low 210*s when he was pulling the hill at the Ohio meet last summer. Albeit they were pulling about 15klbs in that test though.

Actually I think I was around 223°, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Warmer than 210° though, but not by a whole lot.

These transmissions use a thermostat to regulate temperature, so it's normal to see 195° unloaded. I've never seen it get much above 205° when towing heavy under normal conditions.
