Not too much exciting going on here. Old alternator had a rectifier issue, so ordered a fresh one from The Zone. Old ring terminal was sort of ratty, at least not clean enough for my liking. Installed a new one, 6awg and 1/4" lug...soldered it on, not crimped. Heat shrink tube too. As you guys saw the boot was crispy too, so found a place that sells boots for quite reasonable. $7 shipped for a pair that fit 8-2awg cables.
Snagged my side steps from Westin finally, yes I can jump in without them. But this makes it a hair easier and I do not drag my inner, left thigh over that seat recliner lever. Quite easy install. Attached to frame via a pinch clamp thing, front body mount, and some stud sticking out of the floor. Instructions are irritating, so copy the first page with the parts list so you do not have to flip back and forth constantly.
Cab lights are for you, BBslider.

Rojo update!
My squeeze bought me a boss JVC radio I have been wanting for a long time. It is a KD-X350BTS, media only receiver. Super tiny like my Blaupunkt in Swamp Thing. My old radio was a stoneage Pioneer Premier CD unit, worked fine just could not do satellite radio and when on the road in BFE you pick up four kinds of radio...religious, Tejano, country, and western. In any event, this also has the capability to accept satellite radio. You need the small SXV300 expansion box, about the size of a pack of Winston Golds. Slapped it in and I now have it working, I am still debating on where to install this magnetic base antenna for the satellite radio.
Ordered the fuel tank pickup/strainer for the rear tank. Tired of running out of fuel around 2/3 tank. Just silly. Ran just under $40, now I get to drop the damned spare and tank. Oh well, this time I also have a fresh o-ring to install when the sender is out!
Picked up a cheap pop rivet tool to reinstall the small clips for the OE jack crank gizmo. Those missing have pissed me off for a long time. Jarrett helped me out by sending me a pair!

New battery ground cables came in from Arizona yesterday and I installed before the cold snap. They are 2/0awg versus factory 1/0awg, I opted for the military spec terminals so they can be replaced separate. The passenger side needs to be bent 90* for ease of install. I will relay this info to the chap that makes them to at least point out this for an option for guys. I also ordered the $6 wire to excite the starter, I will install that when I do new positive terminals later this year. Also opted for the terminal covers.
Not much to them, remove old, install new. Make sure to use a good stiff brass brush to clean the points of contact on the block and battery terminals. I use bearing grease to protect against corrosion, works great for me even in perpetually damp Houston.
