Tailgate wiring corrosion

Had the tail gate off a couple time recently to transport a motorcycle, First time i taped up the connections before realizing what the two dongles in the glove box were for, within a week one of the connection pins was corroded completely and turned to dust, Headed to the dealer next week to Have them replace the wiring, the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the zoom for the rear camera, Any one else have a similar issue with this? Will use the wiring dongles(caps) from now on i guess,

There’s been so much chatter about the various connectors at the back of the truck having water problems I got nervous and took them all apart and added some dielectric grease. I haven’t read about the tailgate connector specifically but there are at least a couple threads about others, specifically the big cream colored one on the inside of the frame rail on the passenger side by the spare.

I swear by this stuff. CorrosionX CorrosionX

Self healing dielectric properties. Excellent penetrant and lubricant.

Can use use it on electrical connectors, metal surfaces, hinges, locks etc.
