Does anybody have any expirience with Dynamat - or any other sound dampening material? If so, what would you recommend? If you put it on, is the adhesive permanent or can it be removed? Would you ever want to remove it laer? i.e. years down the road for restoration/repaint etc? Thanks for any info!
You apply it on the inside so most dont want to remove it. it is removable but a pain. You can go to parts express and get basically the same thing but cheaper. Dynamat is exspensive. I used something from mcmaster.com for my sound deadening and it waorks real good. Huge sheet cost me $14.oo
I have Dynamat's under all four speakers in my
doors on my 2000 Eb EXPY. I have Kenwoods
in the front and Alpines in the rear.
A good investment if you want to improve your
sound.

I don't have any in the Explorer, but the Cougar has plenty of Dynamat in it. I highly recommend it or anything that is similar. Makes the car much quieter than it normally would be.
Goto caraudio.com and the owner/ a guy from the compary is there, just search "second skin" and 100000 things will pop up. I gtg but i if can look later i will.
