I'm looking for a new cab for my 65-F250 4x4, I came accross a 64 F250 custom cab 4x4, I'd like to keep the truck original and I'd like to keep it a standard cab (I know that sounds backwards) but is there anything different other than the dash pad and maybe a little trim, different instrument panel (are they interchangeable?) is this something I can just convert back to standard or am I going to be stuck filling lots of trim holes / extra hassle etc? The reason I'm asking is because I havn't seen any pics yet from the seller so I can't make a good comparison - sorry a bit new to this too...Thanks for any info!
Krosati is 100% right, 64 cab will NOT direct bolt onto anything but a 64 chassis! Front cab mount outrigger is about 8 1/2" out of position, and a different style also.
A 65 thru 79 cab will interchange (bolt on) to any 65-79 chassis and vice-a-versa.
Only cab you can use to keep the 65 looking the same is a 65 or 66 F series. BUT you can use any F series cab as long as you stay with F-100 thru F350 nose/ front clip.
Actually it is a 65 F250 4x4 so it should bolt on to an earlier cab without a problem. It does have the different floor pan with the step inside the door like the earlier models. The 65 F-250 2wd and the F100 are different though. This link should clarify that some
