Removing the tailgate

Just to be clear, you have to have it 3/4 way down to get the passengers side hinge off, then rotate vertical (with the first hinge off) to get the drivers side hinge. With it vertical, just pick it up under your arm and slide it to the passenger side to disengage the drivers side hinge.
that torsion spring helps A LOT to make it easier to lift. It's not any lighter than any other tailgate, just the spring helps A ton.
