Trick?

I tried to take my tailgate off my 08 F-450 today.
Did it the same as every tailgate Ive taken off in the last 20 years...........it wouldn't come.
Is there a trick to it?

No trick when I took mine off.

Remove cables, lift gate about half way and then one side, Left side I believe will come out.

Other side you can't. You slide towards the side you took out.

That's what I did I even pryed on it with a bar.
Never did get it off

well I would not know why it wont come off.

On the left side do you see the slot in the hinge?

Previous owner have any clamps on the hinge anywhere?

X2 - check it the PO put a hose clamp on the left side. Its and antitheft trick.

if its blue and a crew cab with 8ft bed , its never going to happen....need to to rid of that truck and trade it to me.

my 08 f-350 dually crew cab has no problems with tail gate removal.
