Removing bed to replace fuel pump

On 05 F150 SuperCrew (138” wheelbase, 30 gallon tank), if you take the bed of the truck off is the fuel pump still accessible or is the fuel pump under the cab? Reason I’m asking is cause I got bad check valve in the fuel pump and I want to replace it. I tried dropping the tank, but soon gave up realizing that a job like that is where a hoist really comes in handy. I’m hoping if I can remove the bed the cab won’t be sitting over the fuel pump so I can remove it that way instead.

I did a 2006 CREW... removed the bed, and YES the pump is under the back seat area.. Moved the bed back 4 feet so I could get access from the top.... still had to loosen the front strap and remove the rear strap..... Drop rear of tank about 8-10 inches and you can pull the pump out at an angle. It is easier to get the hose clamps off with the bed off...

month ago I did a 2006 CREW again... this time I removed the drive shaft for access to set between the gas tank and muffler... Its tight, but doable if your under 200 pounds and would help to be 40 years old... im 65.. ITS TOUGH. Note there are 5 fuel line fittings on the pump.... you can remove two of the lines behind the tank where they go to the fuel press module area... and two more in front of the tank that go to the fuel filter area below the drivers seat....... so on top of the tank, you remove one fuel line and two electrical plugs, and one 1/2 inch rubber vent hose clamp.

Either way, you have to disconnect the fuel fill neck from the fender, remove the rubber / hose clamp in the fender well at the frame... to get enough slack to drop the tank down.

with the drive shaft removed, its still tight between the fuel tank and muffler... if you took the rear two hangers off the muffler and pulled it 4 inches to the passenger side, that would help a lot for clearance.

I thought about removing the line that goes into the canister cause that line is one going into two lines towards the fuel pump. I also thought of disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel filter and the bigger line beside it, but the yellow clip won't let go of the line it's connected to (I don't feel like breaking clips cause you can't get them separately). But I guess if you jacked the truck up 10-20 inch's and removed the driveshaft it would be easier to peak your head up there to see what your doing on top of the tank. Or drop the tank 5-10 inch's instead then peak your head up there to see what your doing.

I don't really want to move the truck bed if I don't have to cause my 6 truck bed bolts are rusted underneath the truck bed, so good chance they will break if I pry on them.

the yellow clip at the front end ( filter) is a simple one.. PUSH IN, instead of pulling out.. Many of the new clips are a lot easier than the old PULL OUT, or ALIGATOR TEETH grip.... the new clips just push in 1/8 inch and pull the coupling off. ( it does seem like ONE of the couplings was the old alligator grip type and needed the internal spreader tool).

I didn't jack up my 4 x 4 2002 at all... I did put the 2 x 4 2006 on 6 x 6 wood block on the rear to get a few extra inches of ground clearance... remove the gas tank fill neck in the fender well, then remove the front and rear straps with a floor jack under the tank... drop it down 4-6 inches and then peek over the top of the tank... drop a little at a time until you can get a hand in there to remove the hose clamps and two electrical fittings....... and your right, the two rear hoses combine into ONE and that's the one I removed... made like the filter clamp up front, squeeze in and pull.
