Replacing Fuel Pump

what is the best way to do this? I was thinking that i should pull the bed off and the replace the fuel pump. Of course the tank is full so i really can't drop it now. The truck is a 97 f150 super cab step side. If i pull the bed off can i get to the fuel pump? Any help is great

We always pulled the bed off to replace fuel pumps at the dealership. Be aware that the bolts that hold the bed on may be wasted once you are able to get them out so be prepared to replace those as well.

I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. We dropped the tank. it was half full but we just took a floor jack with a hunk of 2x12 on each end of the tank and lowered it down. have to jack the truck up a bit to clear the tank but that wasn't too bad. i did a write up on it. It should only be a few pages back. It ended up seeming WAY easier than pulling the bed off. whole job was like 2.5 hours.

+1 for just dropping the tank. Support it like was mentioned above, and if you have a jack, it's a non-issue. Pump is too...
