hello, I have a 86 F1 50 with a 5.8. The AC clutch is making a rattling sound and was wondering if I can just replace the clutch on the AC compressor. Any info would be great, thanks

Yes you can replace just the clutch. There is a tool that threads into the clutch hub then has a bolt that you thread in pressing on the shaft pulling the clutch off.
You can rent the kit that has the tools from advance and probably others. There are many different styles and different tools required for the many different brands, so the kit is a big plastic case with a bunch of stuff in it. Last time I rented it, it was about $100.
Yep or he could buy just the tool for it. It looks like the same style as used by GM on their A6 compressors. I have one of those I bought locally for like $15. My truck doesn't have that compressor, its a dealer air truck so its a York I just have to remove the lock bolt and thread another bolt in to pull the clutch off on mine.
