As we all know,we can NEVER be done with our trucks. I was thinking of putting in a sunroof in my truck, but was amazed at the cost of one now. I was thinking of a 15x30 size. I do have the extended cab, so there is plenty of room. Looking if anybody out there has installed one, and looking for pros and cons. Thanks
Cons: They leak, the roof are 2 panels, an outer one and a ribbed inner one with a gap between them. I am also guessing that on the extended cab there may be a cross brace between them some where in the gap.
When the sun is out it shines in thru the opening and makes it hard to see, heats up the inside of the truck and the UV rays kill everything inside the cab.
Makes your pocket lighter to buy & install it.
If left open when it rains guess what gets wet?
Did I post they leak!
Back in the day..My Dad had an International stepside that was so new, the spare had never been down. I thought it would look better with a sunroof and white wagon wheels. SO..off to the local custom van shop that every town had in the 70s..Wheels were fine..Sunroof..??..NOT so good..Leaked no matter WHAT I did. Needless to say, Dad was less enthused..!!
