Plug the EGR valve back in assuming you still have it. May help your fan come on quicker. Then do your test drive again.

If your going stock temp range on the T-stat get it from International. They hold up way better.

When you finshed the flush did you also clean out the top tank of the radiator? There have been some cases where there was a large amount
of crud hiding up there only to be released into the cooling system after a new cooler was installed. The best way to be sure is to remove the radiator
and cap the outlet and fill with water and then pull the cap so you get a good flow of water rushing out. You can also do it in place and stick a bore scope
in to be sure that the top tank is clean.

No I didn't.

Drove home without the AC in 104* outside temp. deltas were a little lower but still high.
I hope this is just a bad cooler can't see having to do this every year or so.

This is a question so correct me if i’m wrong. I’ve read on here when you have a EGR delete the temp spreads don’t mean as much. And not to worry until EOT gets above 225 - 230. I do agree to plug the EGR valve back in even if is laying on the intake to control the fan speeds.

Without the EGR cooler the ∆ calculations go out the window. They were done with an intact system in mind.

How is the recovery time if you run up a hill and then get to the top and take the load down?

recovery time is good. Temps come down quickly.

I understand when the EGR cooler has been deleted the temp spread doesn’t matter as much BUT seeing temps at 218* unload just driving should be a little concerning. What would happen if he hooked up to a trailer and started pulling where would the temp end up. I know I wouldn’t want my EOT getting much hotter.

If the spread is too high, you will still get thermal stresses on the plate type heat exchanger. These types of heat exchangers see failures from thermal stresses all the time in industry, nature of the beast. I wouldn't want to see the high "delta's" at all (EGR delete or not). Since the EGR cooler is after the oil cooler in the coolant flow path, the "delta" is still a measurement of the oil coolers cooling efficiency. Anything higher than normal is indicative of plugging beginning.

The temperature differential limit was no doubt to identify a restricted flow of coolant that could jeopardize the EGR cooler's integrity, but watching these temperature differentials certainly had a positive effect on reducing oil cooler failures also.

Just my conservative .02.

He does have something going on. The question us what.
Bad oil cooler or maybe one of the valved connected to oil filtering that is leaking.

Looks like a little type on top of that.

There are some valves in the bottom of the oil filter assembly that can cause
some problems or so some have said. I have not had any issues so maybe
some that have ran into this will speak up on it. The way I understand t it hot
oil ends up bypassing the oil cooler altogether and that brings the over all temp
up. That or you might try searching oil temp and leaking valve.

Look at this one >>> https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...il-cooler.html

Here is the search I used >>> https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...3&pp=15&page=2
