Running like it did (even though it was rough) seems to indicate injector(s) or still a fuel supply issue - IMO anyway
Might be worthwhile to doublecheck that the batteries didn't just get weak when it quit starting and just went to cranking.
Cranking w/ the starter wire and looking for bubbles can identify some injector issues.
Watching for bubbles when you fill up the secondary fuel filter bowl (key on) can identify fuel delivery issues with air intrusion.
I certainly appreciate Jack and FiznUKa jumping in. Hopefully they stay with you also!

I pulled the secondary fuel filter and had maybe a 1/4 bowl of fuel. Key on the bowl filled in about 2 seconds with no air bubbles present. Bowl stayed full as I engaged the starter solenoid wire. Ran the starter from the wire several times, no bubbles or foaming in the bowl.
I also would not continue to attempt to start until you get a fuel pressure gauge on it to confirm its getting volume, injector plungers don’t take too well to excessive bottoming.
Got the plug all cleaned up and back together. Truck is plugged in for now. I can't get another pressure gauge adapter right now. I took Mark's advice and reached out to the Colorado Chapter here the other day, but had no response.
