looking for opinions help tips or any info I want to get Kat Skinz for my truck and curious if they can be installed by myself or if it needs to be done by and upholstery shop any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
I wanted the heated/cooled seats so I had them installed by an authorized dealer. It appears you can buy the basic black set on Ebay, but I've only seen the ones with the center console option. My STX has the fold down third seat so I couldn't find a DIY kit online. From what I've seen, if you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you could re-cover the seats yourself. Post pics when you're done!
No, but I've re-covered seats before. It's not hard. You just have to take your time. Nowadays I don't mind paying to have someone else do the dirty work.
Way better. It's thicker and has more padding. My dad actually bought some to replace his Platinum leather after a road trip on mine.
I'm gonna buy some for my dad when i picks up a new f250 in the next couple months. practice on his and then buy a set for myself lol. you bought the f150 kit didn't ya?

Haha, good plan. It's really not hard at all, just labor intensive. Take your time and understand how the clips work before you start ripping them out and it'll be a breeze.
Edit; yup, bought the F150 version, was easier to find at the time.
