1966 f100. Putting it back together, bought it apart.
I have no horn at the steering wheel. I checked for power at the horn relay. The yellow wire has power. The blue/yellow wire does not. I look at the wire diagram and i see that it goes to the horn switch. What should i be checking now to get this resolved?
I started tracing continuity back from the relay and I think i found a broken pin at the firewall connection. i am in the process of checking that out right now. i will report back. thanks.
OK. replaced the pin connector. Now i have continuity from the horn button under the steering wheel, (next to the signal switch) all the way to the horn relay end. in the blue/yellow wire.
I ground the blue/yellow wire to the battery negative, nothing happens. If i push the horn button under the wheel, nothing happens.
You might be missing the ground strap the goes from one side of the rag joint to the other - which provides the ground for the horn thru the column shaft.
I have read many times about the ground strap. I made sure there was contact between the two sides when i assembled the rag joint. I did check for continuity from one side to the other. And i do have it.
I was reading a few other threads, so i decided to check for power at the insulator at the TSS. When i put my test light on the insulator, and the ground from the test light to the negative on the battery, the horn blew. So, does this mean i do or do not still have a problem?
I dont want to put the wheel back on if i am not done troubleshooting.
Thanks
