Very nice. Please document and post your install as it comes along. Once I have the free time, I'll be installing some Hertz Mille Pros components in my front doors, Mille coax in the rear doors, a JL Audio 13tw5v2 in a custom box behind the rear seat, a JL HD900/5 to power everything and a Rockford Fosgate DSR-1 to link everything up. Should be a fun system once it's done.
That's gonna be a great system. The Mille Pro's are solid, I still prefer the HSK-165's but I can't find that kit anymore.... the pulp cones made for amazing sound. The tweeters are a tad overkill though for my liking...

Somewhat on-topic, and appreciate advice from guys who are way more up on this than me:
Wanting to upgrade my Sony system and am not looking to put in top-line $$$ speakers, but am not adverse to decent quality ones. Had Infinity Kappas in my previous truck, but that was with the OEM amps etc. This time, I am planning to tap the audio lines with some sort of DSR processor and get them fed to an amp. Here is my Q: I am looking at JL C2's for the doors and also the Hertz Energy line. How does these compare? Sensitivity on the Hertz units seems to be better, but otherwise I have not heard either one yet in person to judge. I listen to a range of music, from Jazz to Rock to Country. Any insights are appreciated - thanks.

Personally, as much as I love JL's stuff from back in the late 90's and early 2000s (still have the amps to prove it).... I despise their component systems. I am very picky with door speakers, can't stand the 'tinny' sound that you get from all the hard composite cones in the woofers. I don't have any experience with the Energy line of Hertz, but the set of speakers that absolutely sold me on Hertz was the high energy line. Looking at the photos of the pulp cones, I would take the Hertz over JL any day. Honestly you can't go wrong with Hertz. They just really know what they're doing. Hertz is an offshoot of Audison which is one of the leaders in high end stereo equipment in the world. Infinity Kappas aren't bad either, they're alot softer sound than most, but I'd still go for my Hertz, I have a very picky ear even though I listen to everything at damn near max volume.

I am running JL C5's all around in my truck (components in the front) and I am pretty happy with them, I ran them I'm my last truck also and they really hold up well and I do push them at times. I personally like the way they sound but of course this is subjective. I auditioned many different speakers and not to say some others did not sound good as some truly did but bang for the buck the Jl's fit me well. I see many blown Hertz come through my shop, this is not to say they were properly adjusted and not abused as they likely were but I do like to push my system from time to time and I know the Jl's will take that without complaint.

Take a look at the AudioFrog GS series or the Unity Series by Hybrid Audio.
Appreciate the great feedback thanks guys. Now going to try to listen to as many of these as possible to make up my mind. Not sure who carries AF around me...
