Got the grill and lower valance painted and clear coated. Now I can get started putting the front end of the truck together. Was hoping to have it done by the the first week of May but the weather hasn't cooporated. The first week of May will be10 years since I picked it up from my parents house and brought it out here and started working on it. Don't look at all the crap in my garage...I haven't had a chance to do any spring cleaning yet either.
Here is the valance, got the turn signal/parking lights instlled.
Got both front fenders installed, and had my sons come over and lend a hand getting the hood on. Still have some adjusting to do to get everything lined up....but it is starting to look like a truck again.
Those are later model wheels I picked up a while back so it would be a roller. They are made for radials. I've got the 5 original rims all media blasted and primered. Just need to paint them the same color as the truck and buy some bias ply tires for them. Looking at one of these companies
Great looking truck! Oddly enough, I purchased my tires on Amazon if you're looking for a deal. And I love the mess in the background, what's funny is I always worry about the mess in the background of my pics too, but when you're focused on a project, cleaning up is usually an after-thought.
Question, I know running boards on some models were painted body color. Where yours originally black? Also, what's that little piece at the front of the running board just aft of the front fender?
