Here's the door closeout and speaker plate for the woofer and mid. Second pic is test fitting the MLV
I am in the process of finalizing my stereo upgrade and stumbled across this picture. I am debating going with 2 vs. 3-way Hertz Mille Legends up front, but did not want to get into fabricating the a pillar and/or sail panel for the tweeter and mid driver. It looks like you were able to fit a 6.5" and 3" in the factory position. Would you mind letting me know how well it fits? Does the diameter of the factory grill clear ok? Thanks!

the tweeter will fit in the pillar without fabrication. If your not going to do a sub in the back go 2 way so you can get more base out the speakers. If you do a sub then 3 way is the way to go.... you will see you can make a simple mounting bracket and will fit fine behind the skin of the door

Thanks, What I meant was fabricating the mid into the a-pillar and tweet into the sail panel. If both the mid and woofer will fit under the factory grill that would be ideal. I am planning to use 2 - 12TW3-D4s subs in a down-firing MTI enclosure and a JL VXi600/1i. For the components and rear coaxials I plan to use a VXi800/8i.

got it. I would definitely go 3 way and if you haven’t purchased I find my 2 jl 10tw3 to be killer and have to turn down the bass sometimes. I am running an alpine 900 watt mono amp to them and it’s plenty. Also in this truck I went with morel- but my last system I went with the hertz milli. I think I like the hertz milli best. Morel is great but I think the hertz tweeter may be a tad better

Thanks again Ben, really appreciate the help. I haven't purchased yet, but will consider the 10tw3s. Definitely doing the 3-way setup now that I know its possible.

Yes I believe I said this before but it's a set of Hertz HSK 163, so a 6.5 woofer and 3-ish mids. I did not have the tools to fab the mounts so I bought these: https://store.audiodesignscg.com/pro...aker-adapters/ They work great!
The door card fits with a couple inches clearance so I built up dams of closed cell foam gasket around the speakers so it would touch the inside of the door card when reinstalled. If you're asking whether the actual pass-through area of the door card grill covers all of the woofer area: I don't know. I kind of doubt it. I could use a flashlight to look if you're really bugged about it.
I also have 2 tw3's and I'm only using a jx1000 running them at 4ohms. It's a pretty big thump to be honest. I only want more power to bring out the really low rap bass lines but anything else is great. They want to be crossed at 63 instead of 80 or else it gets muddy, but that might be my box being too small.

Thanks. Yes, I was wondering if they pass-through covers all of the woofers. If its not too much trouble to shine and light through and check, I would really appreciate it.

Looks like the 6.5 is fully in the pass-through area, but the 3" has the top corner cut off.
