I am looking at doing some modifications to my truck and would like to keep the wiring as close to factory as possible. As such I would like to try to get a hold of the same style as factory. Currently I am planning on replacing my running board lights, adding clearance lights and adding bed lights.
Does anyone know of a supplier where I could look up the connectors?
If having factory connectors is not possible, does anyone have a connector brand/supplier they recommend?
I have been using Weatherpack connectors (I have a huge kit of them in different sizes) for at least 5 years now on the race cars I engineer. Of all the pro race teams I have acquaintances in, they too use Weatherpack. Very high quality and stands up to heavy vibration and heat.
If you can swing the cost, Delphi makes a great Weatherpack tool for quick, clean assembly. There are also race equipment websites that sell small kits of different sizes.
I have also used these solder seal heat shrink connectors on non-critical applications. They’re waterproof and work much better than your typical crimp butt connector (although 3M makes really good connectors).
