Clearance lights
Has anyone ever put on aftermarket clearance lights. Found some in cabelas for about $40 and was wondering how big of a job it is, I know you have to take down the headliner but dont know about how hard it is to run the wires.

I just installed mine last weekend. I am still figuring out how to resize the photos of the work I took to be able to upload and attach to posts. The only special tool you would need is an 1/2 inch knock out tool (used to make knock out holes in electrical panels). I ordered the factory clearance lights and wiring harness from one of the sponor, his name is Ed and is with Milliennium Ford Dealership. His e-mail is parts@Millenniumford.com
I was pleased with the project. The only hard part was to measure and measure twice to be sure everything lined up. Then you would need 2nd hand inside the cab to tighten the nuts to the fixture while holding down the fixture. The wiring harness had all the connection points. They all just plugged in. No slicing or cutting any wiring. The truck had an prewired connection point for the clearence lights located on the bottom passenger side kick. It saved me a lot of time and money, It might be cheaper with Cabana's clearence lights, but you have to buy the connections and splice them? The OEM were all just plug in and done with it.

Clearance Lights
Awsome post Deluxe05 about the bible for the lights. Thanks so much, I new that I could find out how to do the install somewhere in here. LOL I went to the dealership to get my lights and they couldn't even tell me anything about how to install the lights. I even went through 3 people just to be let down. Remember to always ask for the good guy discount!!! I paid just over $55 dollars for the harness and lights together. It doesnt hurt to ask, because the only thing that could happen is the say no. OUCH TAKE MY LAST NAME AWAY!!!! Thanks Again
