Shari and I finally got the email that we've been waiting for.
Everything has been signed on our home loan, and we take possession May 18th!

I'd gladly vote for you, except I'm a VA Chapter member. However, if the new chapter leader is determined by means of a coup of some sort, I'll be only too happy to make my services available to you as a mercenary

Well this weekend we have our baby "shower" which is going to be slightly different...

Its going to consist of cooking hamburgers and hotdogs in our back yard with freinds and family/others. I think she said somewhere around 65 people were supposed to show up. That means since she can't I'll end up drinking enough for us both to be able to deal with a bunch of people...

I'll keep that in mind.

Storm last night knocked out the internet for a while, other than that, things have been pretty quiet around here.

Hope everyone is doing alright!

considering a Marylander is CL of the Deleware chapter i dont think thats too much of an issue lol... some chapters dont have enough active members to have someone in charge from their own state... I was almost the VA one until i saw what all was involved...

To be fair, though, the entire state of Delaware has a population of roughly 37 people from what I was able to tell...so there's not a huge supply of potential CL's there :-missing

Far as I can tell, VA still doesn't have a CL...and I'm like you; once I saw the expectations for it, it didn't look like something I'd be able to devote myself fully to, and if I did it, I'd want to give it the level of commitment it deserves. Would love to see the VA Chapter make it to the level of involvement I see in NC, with monthly dinners and what not. But going by the BS thread, the vast majority of folks who check in regularly are from out of state.

It seems like a lot of the threads of out of state visitors. But I like that, I talk to a lot of different people that way. In the MN thread we have a lot of New Englander's pop in and so on.

I was gonna do the chapter leader for MN to when I saw all what it was. But someone else wanted to and I was ok with that.

for me i didnt like all the personal info you had to give so that someone could get a hold of you when there was a problem with your chapter.. its just not worth it becoming a job to me.. especially an unpaid one.. if theres a problem i get to it when i got on the next time otherwise you have the super mods and admins to take care of it.. ive been mod and CL on other forums without all that needed info they wanted..

most the VA members dont bother with the BS thread... they spend more time over in the tech threads.. ntm were so spaced out its hard to get any meets going.. you almost have to do it by region.. when we had more active members i tried organizing a few G2G's but it was such a headache i gave up..

No problem here in the NC Chapter...
We even entertained the idea of a week long G2G...
A little more food than we normally bring and we could make it a week...
