The other day I got some bad gas. Had alot of water in it. The engine started knocking and pinging and then blew all the oil out through the valve cover. Now truck won't start at all. What might have happened?
I don't see what bad gas has to do with blowing oil out the top....Normally to push oil out, you have to pressurize the crank case. The best way to do that is to crack a piston or blow a hole in it... The compression then goes to the bottom end. I would check pressure out the PCV valve when cranking... then probably pull the spark plugs and do a compression test... You might have a Schrader valve on the fuel line to the injectors.. Push it and see what comes out.. Should have over 40 psi if the pump is working right.. See what the gas looks like.
I drained all the gas out and put fresh gas in. How can I check and adjust the timing when the truck is not working and i don't have a diagnostic tool?

Timing won't change.
Stop what you're doing, contact the people you bought the bad gas from, let them handle it through their insurance. It's not your fault. Let the pros handle it, and on their dime.
I wish I could get that to happen. I already tried that route first thing and was pretty much told hell no. I will start with a compression test. If the compression is all good then i will check the timing. I say that because when the engine turns over it sounds like it has jumped time
