Hi - I just bought my first Excursion! 2002 7.3 diesel - I am going to update and redo most of it - new custom seats, new paint job outside - velocity yellow! a 3 inch lift - So far I have research and decided on all the previous items. I want to take out the carpet and replace it with a rubber type floor. I do not want floor mats or replacement mats. I have not found a good site for this. Has anyone done this? How easy/hard was it? who did you purchase the product from? Thank you for all the info in advance!
I am super excited to be taking on this project and want the floor done before I put in the new seats.
I am also going to paint the interior. anyone paint their headliner? - what did you use? Have you dyed the carpet on the back of the seats and the door panels? and what did you use. I want to go with a graphite gray.
THANKS!

For the flooring, check Rockauto. They have the complete passenger area made by ACC, with the backing, for around $230, plus shipping, of course. You can always find a discount code for them to save an extra 5%, also.

Others have had great success on a stained, beaten down carpet with a good degrease/pressure wash. The Ex came with a high quality carpet from KY, it’s probably worth salvaging. Still a big job, either way you go.

Welcome to the club. I'd love to see the finished project, from start all the way to finish with pictures. Build threads are my way of living vicariously and give me amazing ideas.
Remove it and use a good carpet cleaner + scrub brush followed by a wash, then dry thoroughly. Will come out like new.
Having just done this, I will confirm, it is NOT a difficult process to remove and clean. A gallon of Simple Green and a scrub brush followed by a good pressure washer and my 18 year old carpet looks almost new.... Had the weather cooperated, i would have rinsed and repeated and it would probably be as good as new.
