Excursion Advice Wanted
Hi there. Im new to the forum. Been looking around a little bit. Im currently traveling the us with my family of 7 towing a travel trailer with a ‘03 suburban, 5.3l with 260k on it. Its getting tired and Spring 2019 i want to head to alaska. I would like to upgrade to a diesel Excursion that is travel Tested and ready to roll before the ‘burban dies.
Does anyone know of one with a decent price or is anyone able to build one?

Currently in houston. Im traveling through texas then utah then Yellowstone and up into the pacific northwest this summer. I wanted to buy maybe in 6 months so i had a few months to work out any kinks before pushing to alaska.
What price range am i looking at?

Hard to find a diesel Excursion...especially a 7.3L, nonetheless a 2wd. I am also in H-town between there and Galveston in Clear Lake. There is a really nice one for sale that has been well taken care of and all the updates done for the 6.0L. My wife had a Burb with the Anaheim package before we got the Ex...that was 15 or so years ago and haven't looked back as the Ex is built alot better.

What year rig is best for the suspension mods and upgraged axles and upgraded front clips? Eventually (after Alaska) i would look to get that stuff complete.

Went back and looked...that 6.0L must have sold, it was a deal. There are a couple of more...

Ok thanks! Too bad i missed it.
So what it would seems that the question is which motor 6.0 or 7.3 as all the other mods mentioned are doable on every X model. Any thoughts that way?
Any idea what the best facebook group is to join? Or best groups?

No, the EX kept the exact same leaf spring front suspension (4X4) in '05 as before while the pickups went to coil fronts. The '05 EX did get the fresh '05 grille and bumper though, but they can be retrofitted to any year EX.

this is the 6.0 and it does not seem as though he has bulla proved it. I spoke with him on the phone he’s the only owner and says it’s the best vehicle he’s ever owned. Should I be skeptical? What should I look for?
