It's probably a lot less likely here than in the Early Bronco world however, due to the old Broncos having a simple flat windshield that is very easy to have custom made to fit the frame tighter without a rubber gasket.
Not quite as easy with our full-size trucks with curved glass.
Never had one out and tried to size it without the rubber to see if the stock one will fit decently in the opening without having to make a custom sized one. Last time I changed one we took the old one out, put the old gasket on the new one and slapped it in. Never thought to check that kind of stuff back then.
