Perhaps it's just that I'm too stupid, but I can see how the windshield rubber (gasket) that I got from LMC Truck can work on my 1953 truck...
The crosssection of this rubber does not seem to be close to the original rubber.....
I've used the search function and see the comments that some have made about LMC's quality.....
The question is, has anyone had success with a 1953 windshield rubber from LMC and how did you fit it?
Should I just trash this one and get another from Dennis Carpenter?
I used LMC windshield rubber on my 56 with good success. Some of the other rubbrer I got from LMC like the vent and side windows had Dennis Carpenterr's logo on them. Can't help on the 53. Have you fitted the rubber to the windshield on a bench and used masking tape to hold it in place?

This rubber was made in Thailand.....
Have the backglass rubber as well (made in Thailand).....Not very pleased with the fit and shape of it, either....
I have tried several times to fit the rubber to the windshield without being able to see how it can work......
I think that I am going to take the rubber and the windshield/backglass to a local glass installer and see what they say......
It will probably fit fine for a pro!!
Will post what they say.....
Well, after taking a portion of the old gasket off of the truck, I was able to see how the new gasket was to go on the windshield......
With quite a bit of difficulty, I was able to get it on the glass......
Looks as if it will be fine.....
Thanks to all who helped.......
