Just purchased an A8 SD navigation card from my Ford dealer ($149 - ouch). Pulled out my A4 card from my 2014 F350 Platinum and plugged this new card in. System said loading navigation but no map ever came up. Pulled out the new card and plugged the old A4 back in - everything worked fine. Put the new one in and tried several times to get it to work - no luck. Wondering if there's something else I have do to make this work or should I just go back and deal with the parts department at the Ford dealer?
That's what I'm leaning towards. I know the dealers going to give me **** over it and try to say I jacked something up. I've been arguing with them over other things and this will just add to the list.
Wonder if you can attach it to a computer and see if there’s any files on the card
Yes, you can see files on the card with a computer. You need special copying devices to duplicate the NAV sd card. I have tried to no avail to copy them. Even tried sector by sector copying with no luck.
I went back to the dealer today to say the card was bad. I asked them to just give me a new card and I'd go out to the lot and see if it worked in my truck. If it did, it means the first card was bad, if it didn't, it would mean something in my system. So I took the 2nd card they gave me out and tried it - NO GO. Still didn't work. They ended up giving me my money back without any hassle. Now I have to have their service department look at it - really not excited about that but not sure what else to do.

On my 2011, there is a “master reset” or reboot or whatever in the navigation system; maybe try that if you have it. Could also try a full truck reboot by unhooking the battery for a few minutes. Maynot do anything, but you never know.
