Ranger Revealed!

Well, here it is officially!

2019 Ford Ranger First Look: Welcome Home - Motor Trend

The 2019 Ranger will be offered with a single engine: the second-generation 2.3-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with a forged steel crankshaft and Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission—no manual. No specs are available yet, but the 2.3-liter gets 280 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque in the Ford Explorer.

I didn't know what to expect, but after seeing the photos I want one. I have absolutely no use for it but I just want it. I'd take a loaded Lariat 4x4

My daughter is currently on deployment in the Middle East. She has a unique opportunity to order a vehicle through the military exchange system before returning to the states.

Her sights are set squarely on the 2019 Ranger. She's driven my truck and feels that it's too big for her so the Ranger may be the right fit for an active 20 something woman.

If I like it I may follow her lead though I won't go for a first model year vehicle. Reliability isn't my concern as the drive train is already in use in the US, it's paying for Ford's first year hype and dealing with limitations in production, engine availability, etc.

Looks nice; should get great mileage with the 10 speed trans. I hope the auto engine start/stop feature can be turned off. The Bronco is gonna have the same mechanicals although I'm interested in seeing what they do with the appearance.

Despite speculation, I don't see any possibility of solid axles on the front.

I'm not a fan of orange-bronze colors that Ford seems to be using on a lot of stuff, but there will be a lot of colors.

Won't be out till early in 2019.

I’m kind of underwhelmed by it to be honest.
After seeing this I don’t have a lot of hope for a stripped down off-road capable Bronco.
Hopefully it will get much better gas mileage than a compareable F150, or be significantly lower in cost.

Meh, in the rest of the world the ranger is an f150. here its pretty much an f150. i was more interested in a true compact truck. single cab not available. pickup bed i dont need a ladder to get things. unless the price is right, which it prolly wont, i would prolly get a f150

Yay! I like it!

I originally predicted that it would get a new front clip for the US, but I guess that wasn't really needed. I saw the more traditional bumper on one of the mules, and knew it would at least look more American than the Global version.

I wonder how much more spacious the interior is compared to the Tacoma and GM Mini-Twins, if at all.

This right now...the biggest thing stearing me from a Tacoma is the miniscule back seat....the GM twins...crap reliability.

That's a good looking truck. I would've like to seen a 2.7EB offered.

My daughter sure threw me for a loop when she saw my FB post about. She doesn't like it!!!! Between Kuwait and Oman she said she's been riding in full size half tons and now she's thinking F-150. Silly girl.

Agreed, the 3.3L n/a in the 2018+ F150 lineup would be a great fleet motor but alas, more Ecoboost Kool-aid or bust from Ford.

Except the Super Duty still for some reason. Where's that 5.0 EB people have been pining for? For some reason Ford still seems worried the EB can't hack it for real commercial use?
