The water leaks from ORIGINAL SEALED windshields. The fix, is to have it removed and resealed...I want v to say, up until 01, there were GEM. Now, there's VSM. The GEM's are located behind the light switch. How! water makes it onto the is beyond me, but it does. Up until I had mine resealed, I put a sandwich baggy over it.
I knew that, but when I was typing out my response we were getting ready to head out for dinner and I suppose I had tacos on my mind instead of what I should be writing. I have changed the original post and thanks for following up on my mistake.
Anyone have any last suggestions before I drop $550 for a new pedal assembly? Would be nice to know if I can replace it with the much vheaper fixed version.

Problem fixed! Replaced my adjustable pedal with the fixed pedal (dorman from Rock Auto for $59!). No issues so far.
I'm having almost the same problem but it happens while I'm driving I have to shut the truck off and restart it and it seems to be fine or it will fix itself right away but the truck acts like it's running on 4 cylinders I've changed almost every since earlier but haven't thought about the pedal but I do not have adjustable pedals I have the fixed one but I did put a new throttle positioning sensor in it and did not change the issue
I wonder how similar or different the sensors are- if they can be transferred from one to the other?
The electrical connection plugs directly in. The connection for the adjustable drive connection(looks like a speedometer cable) does not plug in to the fixed pedal and is not needed. So you can just let it hang free or ziptie it up out of the way.

I have the adjustable pedals and they were unplugged when I got my Excursion. I plugged them back in, no problems.
What about the TPS sensor? I was wondering if it is possible to remove the sensor from the new fixed assembly and use it to repair your adjustable pedals?

I would guess no. The fixed pedal does not have the same housing that has the sensor. I noticed the plug only has 4 out of the 8 pins inside the connection
