this is probably a stupid question but how does the tc get fluid does it pump from the trans or does it get filled separate thanks for the help in advance
well i just swapped a trans in to my 97 and i filled the torque converter until it started to pour out and i just finished the swap and started up the truck and the tc is making a rattling noise and it is leaking some fluid. does this mean the tc is bad?
i put in toatal about 16 quarts and it read full on the dip stick befor some leaked out now its just right below full. im going to get more fluid and fill it back up. and it only leaked when it was running was that the torque converter?
yes the flex plate is fine and is bolted tight but im going to go over everything today to make sure everything is tight. thanks for the help if it still does it after i check everything i will try to take a video and post it here
ok so i think i found my problem i thought i had all the bolts holding the trans to the motor were tight but the trans must not have been perfectly lined up so after starting it up the trans must have shifted and now the bolts are just a little loose so i will see if tightening up the bolts fixes it. its too cold to work on it today and i ran out of propane for the heater
